This unique guitar strap is made with a special finish cowhide that has a black base covered with a true color shifting foil print that is not solid, but like tiny reptile print. This finish changes from a light reddish-purple to gold to dark green pending it's angle to light and your eye, and is applied over a smooth thick black full grain cowhide, which shows in the adjustment slots of the main strap and the adjustment strap.

The color change or this is much more than iridescence seen in many of the other leathers I use on straps.
I kept the strap in the same arrangement but stood at different angles to demonstate how the strap may appear purple, gold, or green. All of my images were taken with natural daylight from a window to the right side and overhead "daylight" OTT bulbs to the left.

This special hide is glued and edge stitched with coordinating thread onto the base cowhide that is very supple and strong, and is 5-6oz thick (3/32"). I stitch around the front peg hole to ensure if any layer separation starts due to the stress of fitting on & off the peg, it cannot extend past the stitched area.

The black leather, due to its natural source may show distress marks from life experiences, as well as will age wonderfully due to oils within the hide. I use full grain oil tanned or vegetable tanned hides that are thru-dyed (so still black in the cross section), but pending stock, the appearance may vary very slightly between straps, but the main strap and adjustment strap will always be cut from the same hide.

This strap has the logo for my guitar strap specific brand, Acoustic Needle, laser etched on the adjustment strap.

The main strap is hand cut to 2 1/2" wide and tapers slightly at either end, and is about 42" long and the adjustment strap to about 22" with the hole a couple inches from the end, so the overall length can be adjusted from about 48" to 60" between the peg holes. But since I cut these myself, I can usually make a version to suit the length or hole/slot spacing to get the fit that works for you. And often I can also make the straps wider or narrower, but this will depend on how much of the leathers I have left, but please do ask!

This leather will settle in with use, like all good leather does, but it will not stretch out!I have softened the cut edges with a small bevel tool, so there is a gentle transition from the top surface to the edge.

Eleven adjustment slots are cut about every 1", and the 1" wide adjustment strap loops through the chosen slot and is woven through the other slots to provide the desired length and fixes to the back pin on the guitar.

The hole for the front peg is punched at 5/16", and 3/8" on the adjustment strap. Each end has a small slit that ends with a small hole for a "keyhole" effect to prevent tears and to make the strap easy to install & remove over the peg/button & jack.

The key hole design allows them to accommodate most pegs, but remains securely in place on the waist. If you have a specific peg size you need to fit, or want just a hole for strap locks, please let me know.

(Please note that each strap may vary slightly as this one pictured due to the unique finish of the hide--no two can be exactly alike).

The design means the strap is only leather, and there is no metal or plastic hardware that could annoy you while you're playing, or your knock into you instrument while it's being moved or stored.

I can also provide black leather "laces" if you prefer to tie the strap to the neck of the guitar, rather than using a front peg. There is no extra charge for these when you order the strap, but please note in the order you want it included.

Most guitar straps & even other items can have a name, image or some small message added to them via silk screen, laser etching. Absolutely beautiful guitar strap that pairs wonderfully with my Ibanez! Pictures do not do it justice and I couldn't be happier with the quality! This is the second strap l've bought from them and won't be the last!
