This all leather guitar strap is made with a stylized floral print that is predominantly blue over brown background, and a clear finish that has a "cracked" effect, and this is layered over smooth brown full grain cowhide strap. The printed leather is fully glued & edge stitched, with additional stitching around the front peg area, but leaving the slot area to show off the main strap cowhide with gentle arc shaped seams.
The print is shades of blues, browns, and some green. I have not applied any edge dye, so you can see the difference in shading of the two thru-dyed leathers from the side. I have edge stitched with a brown thread to coordinate with the leathers.
The base leather is a smooth full grain cowhide that thru-dyed brown, or dark khaki shade which matches some shades in the pattern exactly.
This leather does have some firmness due to its 5-6oz thickness, but it's soft to the hand and supple, it can be rolled tight. The flesh side has some fuzziness from the split, but it's not excessive.
The overall length of this strap is my "standard" range, and is adjustable from about 48" to 59". This is the last piece of this walnut base leather, but I do have more of the print!
The strap is 2 1/2" wide, and tapers slightly to about a 1 1/2" radius for the front peg end, and down to 2 1/8" width on the slot end.
The holes for the pegs are punched at 5/16" in the front, and 3/8" in the back, and a small slit ends with a small hole at the top of the slit to prevent tears & the "keyhole" effect makes the strap easier to install & remove, and can accommodate most pegs. The firm leather and stitching around the front peg hole keeps strap to remain secured once it's fitted fully in place.
The main strap is about 38" long, and has 12 slots spaced from about 28" to 40" from the front peg hole. The adjustment strap is 18" from slot to its rear peg hole when installed. (I refer to the front peg hole being on the main strap, and the rear is the adjustment slot).
The 1" wide adjustment strap is made with the same leather as the main strap so it can weave through the adjustment slots easily, but it is still firm, and will not stretch. The edges are trimmed with a small radius bevel tool to soften the look. The hide is through-dyed, so it is consistent dark brown on the edges as on its soft suede split underside.
I've laser etched my logo onto this smaller piece, and its ink stamped on the underside of the main strap.
This design means the strap is only leather, and there is no metal or plastic hardware that could annoy you while you're playing, or your knock into you instrument while it's being moved or stored. And for this one I have ink stamped my shop name/logo on the underside of the main strap and laser etched my Acoustic Needle logo on the adjustment strap.
I can also provide leather "laces" if you prefer to tie the strap to the neck of the guitar, rather than using a front peg. And if you have a specific peg size you need to fit, please let me know. There is no extra charge for enlarging the peg holes, adding an additional hole in the adjustment strap, or for the ties when you order the strap, but please note in the order if you want any of those changes. Alas since the strap is already made, I cannot make existing holes any smaller...
