This is an amazing metallic "watercolor" cowhide with blues and greens over a silver base. The pattern is unique for every hide, and every section cut from a hide, so even though I do have enough of this leather to make a small quantity of straps, each is truly unique! Unless you request any customization/specific length range, I make these 2 1/2" wide and adjustments every 1" from about 47 to 58".

The various photos try to illustrate the color shifts as the leather moves, and how the lighting alters the appearance with the depth of the colors, though its is not physically dimensional/embossed, photos cannot do this leather justice. The finish is very smooth, though as good leather will, it can show small wrinkles and eases with use.

This special leather from Italy, and is a thin cowhide that is through dyed green, then a silver base and the pattern is applied over that, but unlike many printed leathers, the range of colors is near infinite. (I do not have the details on exactly how this was created--sublimation or digital printing or ?). And unlike some other foiled leathers I've worked with before, this is not just a colored layer on top of the grain that peels off, but it is so well incorporated with the leather, you'll split the grain before peeling off the finish.

This special leather is glued and then edge stitched with a coordinating green thread, which is also used around the front peg hole, to ensure if the glue fails under stress of placement on/off pegs, the separation is limited to a small area. In cross section, you can see the through-dyed blue base strap, a bit of green and then a thinner grain with the special finish.

Even though this special leather firmer than the base, it still twists and rolls easily. The stellar blue base leather, which is exposed for the slots and the adjustment strap (tail piece) is soft and supple, with a matte look, since it's not top finished or waxed. And it should not noticeably stretch even with a heavy solid body instrument, but it will ease in a bit. The flesh side (underside) is fairly smooth, with very low nap, but is akin to a garment suede, and ideal if you don't like your strap sliding off your shoulder. But the side of this leather will only get smoother with use and wear against the body, and can even be burnished if you desire a smoother finish to start with (please message me if you're interested, and I can quote that option).

The leather is hand cut 2 1/2" wide and tapers slightly at either end, is about my standard length, and as show is 51 1/2" peg hole to peg hole, and it adjusts from 47.5 to 57.5". Please inquire if you want a different length--shorter is never an issue, but longer may be limited due to the hides and stock I have to work with. This could also be layered over a different color base strap for a different look, too.

Twelve adjustment slots are cut about every 1", and an adjustment strap loops through the laced to provide the desired length and fixes to the back pin on the guitar. Another peg hole can be added in the adjustment strap, or a shorter adjustment strap made on request, too, if a specific length is necessary that doesn't fall on these 1" increment range.

This design means the strap is only leather, and there is no metal or plastic hardware that could touch you while playing, or your knock into you instrument while it's in its case or stand.

If you want this for solid body, and concerned about the base leather not stretching, I can add some of the firm leather around the peg hole on the adjustment strap to eliminate risk of the hole stretching out of shape, but even as-is, this is unlikely.
