Green and Blue Fish Leather Guitar Strap

DetailsThis unique guitar strap is made with real fish leather, which has been dyed emerald green and applied to smooth light blue cowhide. The fish leather is semi-gloss over matte, but it not sealed, so the scale pocket edges provide texture and dimension, and there is a an undetectable seam where I joined two skins to cover the blue cowhide strap from the slot holes to the front end.
The front peg hole and edges have 2 rows of stitching with coordinating color threads. The leathers are very supple, and still can roll up tightly. The fish leather and cowhide together are about 1/8" thick, and the cowhide alone is 5.5 ounces, or nearly 3/32 inch thick.
I do cut and sew all of this myself, and any slight variations are due to being hand crafted and inherent variations of natural leather. I have laser etched my Acoustic Needle brand logo on the adjustment strap.
The main strap is hand cut to 2 1/2" wide and tapers slightly at either end, and is about 42" long. Eleven adjustment slots are cut about every 1" apart, and the loops through the chosen slot and is woven through the other slots to provide the desired length, so the overall length can be adjusted from about 48" to 60" between the peg holes using the 1" wide by 22" long adjustment strap.
This design means there is no metal or plastic hardware that could annoy you while you're playing, or your knock into and damage your instrument while it's being played, moved or stored.
Both the holes for the pegs are punched at 5/16" for the main strap (front) and for the adjustment strap (back), and a small slit ends with a small hole for a "keyhole" effect to prevent tears in the leather, and makes the strap easy to install & remove. These holes fit most pegs and remain securely in place when properly set over the pegs. (But please always test the fit before you let the weight of the guitar hang from the strap).
I can also provide "laces" cut from the main leather if you prefer to tie the strap to the neck of the guitar, rather than using a front peg. There is no extra charge for these when you order the strap, but please note in the order you want it included.
