The "Ashes of Honor" leather wrist strap

The "Ashes of Honor" leather wrist strap

This design appears in "Ashes of Honor", the recently released & best selling sixth book in the October Daye series by Seanan McGuire.

Seanan, a 'NYT bestselling author' and a Hugo award winner, generously provided me the artwork by Tara O'Shea and permission to use it in my silk screened leather products.

The skeleton key & spattered blood design is sized to suit a wrist strap 1" wide and about 5" across.

I choose leathers for their comfort on the wrist and durability of the silk screen ink, which should last for years.

I recommend about 1/2 to 3/4" longer strap than the wrist size for ease of fit. High quality snaps are used for closure, and the strap can be made to fit any wrist size. An option available is to add 2 snaps, as shown on the parchment colored strap, which provides 1/2" adjustment in fit.

Photos show some of the leather/ink combinations. In the third photo, front to back is: purple leather with white ink; mauve nubuck with black ink; parchment nubuck with black ink; black with white ink; mottled grey with white ink; and grey nubuck with black ink.

I have a wide range of leathers and ink colors on hand, so if you want something other than I have pictured, please convo me, and I'd be happy to make a combination of your choice. Please note that on the "nubuck" leathers, with wear, the leather will wear smoother and darker, since the nubuck is achieved by sanding the top grain surface. I have a Portal strap I've worn nearly every day for over a year that the leather is now smooth, but the ink is unaffected.

I am extremely grateful to Seanan for her amazing books, and for granting me permission to use her artwork. The "Ashes of Honor" wrist strap is just the first in my new series of work utilizing artwork she has provided or inspired.
